Meet ARTI, our in-house AI sidekick!
At the Artificial Intelligence Collaboration Centre (AICC), we’ve been working behind the scenes with our very own in-house high-performance compute node, affectionately named ARTI. It doesn't look like much, but this a very impressive piece of kit!
✨ What is ARTI?
ARTI is our AI-focused High-Performance Computing (HPC) node, supercharged with GPU acceleration, designed to handle large-scale, complex AI workloads.
✨ What do we use it for?
From fine-tuning language models to training image classification models, ARTI helps our data scientists tackle compute-heavy tasks in-house. Right now, it's hard at work supporting real-world use cases for our SME collaborations.
✨ Why it matters for businesses
Thanks to ARTI we can rapidly build, train, and test a wide variety of AI models so SMEs don’t need to worry about hardware, infrastructure, or costly cloud compute just to get started. This means faster prototyping, quicker insights, and more value from day one.
Got a data challenge you think AI could solve? ARTI’s ready when you are, just get in touch!

✨ Last week our team hosted welcome sessions for new and returning AICC funded postgraduate scholarship students across Queen's University Belfast and Ulster University’s Belfast and Derry~Londonderry campuses.
It was fantastic to meet so many new faces, full of curiosity and ambition and to share how the Artificial Intelligence Collaboration Centre (AICC) can support them throughout their postgraduate journey.
To date over 250 postgraduate scholars have enrolled on AI-related courses across UU and QUB, with our first cohort of 17 AICC-funded scholars already graduated in July.🎓
These scholarships play a vital role in building Northern Ireland’s #AI talent pipeline and bridging the skills gap, ensuring we have the expertise needed to power innovation, growth and responsible adoption of AI.
We can’t wait to see the impact this new wave of talent will make across industry, research and wider society!
