How will we use this principle?

• We will assess the long-term societal impacts of our use of AI to ensure that our use of technology contributes positively to the economy, environment, and public good.

• We will include diverse stakeholders in AI design and procurement processes to ensure that the long-term needs of impacted communities are considered and addressed.

• We will design and maintain, procure, and adopt AI system for long-term performance by establishing plans for continuous monitoring, review, and AI management.

• We will implement responsible decommissioning procedures to safely retire or replace AI systems or processes that are out-of-date, harmful, or no longer needed.

• We will monitor and manage technical debt to prevent future breakdowns or inefficiencies in our AI systems, processes, and infrastructure.
